Default PEEL

Do most of you use a peel to put bread int the oven? My hubby made one for
me last year and it makes it so much easier especially for rolls.

Being on the frugal side, I use an aluminum baking sheet that has no
sides. I normally put my hearth loaves on parchment dusted with
flour, corn meal or coarse semolina flour, so anything thin and flat
works.

I actually have a large wooden peel hanging on the wall, but I don't
use it -- it's kitchen decoration!

I use the rimless lid to my stovetop smoker. It's not quite the right
size so large breads hang over, but it does the job. I figured I paid
so much for a fancy roasting pan I might as well use it for bread too.

I make 'em outta laminate (e.g. Formica) scraps and old broomsticks. =
(Email
me for details.) Don't use 'em much anymore, since no longer doing the=20
fancy french flip-flop thing.

Also made a counter knife of the same stuff. Use that one frequently.

Do you use it with the pan attached so you have a handle?

No, you can't tell from photo but there's a little tab on one side of
the lid that functions as a "handle".
