As a side point it seems to me that "Protestants"/"Anglicans" rank
higher than "Catholics" which in turn rank higher than other Eastern
religions (e.g. Buddhism) in terms of respectability in some parts of
the Far East, notably Hong Kong. Probably this correlates with the
socioeconomic gradient that goes along with these religions, along with
the ethnicity of those who practice them. Thus it's not impossible that
changing your religion may land kids in a more prestigious private
school, and upgrading your religion is like upgrading your car - the
cachet may be important not just for 'face' and for real societal
access.

And yet ALL religions are cross-cultural

Jesus was a Jew... Buddha was a Hindu from India.... But you do not
have to be Jewish or Indian to follow these respective faiths. In
fact, because Buddhism is non-theistic, you can be a Christian/Buddhist

Hey I was referring to how so many in the Far East swell their
congregation based on social, economic, and peer pressure vs the
origins of their religion.
