Would appreciate any info on good restaurants in Gatlinburg, especially local cuisine. Thanks in advance, While the Gatlinburg area has a lot of restaurant, none of them are particularly memorable (think buffets, pancake houses, fudge, and ice cream stands). That said, up the road in Sevierville (which can be near or far, depending on traffic), is the Applewood Farmhouse, which is pretty decent, and meets the "local cuisine" aspect. It's a fancy pancakce house. I think they now have one in Gatlinburg as well. If the Park Grill is still there, it's pretty good, but pricey. Calhouns for BBQ is a local tradition as well, but nothing remarkable. (Disclaimer: I don't live around there anymore and don't get back frequently) -- Richard W Kaszeta http://www.kaszeta.org/rich |

Brass lantern restaurant http://www.peddlergatlinburg.com/ Peddler Restaurant http://www.obergatlinburg.com/_shoplod/ogrestau.htm OBER GATLINBURG'S RESTAURANT http://www.parkgrillgatlinburg.com/ Park grill There is also a yummy Italian place that will deliver to your hotel called Anthony's, I recommend the antipasto salad. I have no idea what the actual restaurant is like, but the food is so good I haven't forgotten in 8 years! The restaurants are in the order of my preferences as I previously lived in TN and visited Gatlinburg often over the years. GL Frank and I hope I didn't catch you too late!!
