Looking to give someone a gift certificate for a Los Angeles restaurant.

What are the top joints, anywhere in the city/area is fine.

Thanks for your help.

The Los Angeles Times magazine of June 22, 2003 gave a list, with
descriptions, of what it considered the 100 best restaurants in the LA area.
We were heartened to discover that Lawry's the Prime Rib (roast beef) at 100
N. La Cienega and the Pacific Dining Car (steaks) at 1310 W. 6th St., two of
our favorites from our youth were on their list. We invited friends for a
dinner together at the Pacific Dining Car in June, and it certainly lived up
to expectations. We also have tried another on the list, Menemsha at 822
Washington Blvd., Venice, which is a seafood restaurant, and was also very
good.

Try Matsuhisa on La Cienga. Top Japanese in LA.
