One of our favorite recipes for the crockpot is very simple. Cooking this
way doesn't heat up the kitchen on these hot summer days. Just cut up some trimmed round steak in portion sizes, put it in the crockpot with an envelope of dried onion soup mix, a can of cream of anything soup (I use mushroom) and a can of mushrooms. Set to low heat for 8-10 hours. This makes a nice gravy, so I make mashed potatoes and a veggie on the side, and dinner is done! When in the mood I also add garlic. Also if you want it to be more like a Swiss steak, just add some tomato paste and towards the end add a drained can of peas. Very simple and very good. Debbie in Indiana |

A great variation to this recipe is to use golden mushroom soup instead of
the cream type. "Deb/Al" wrote in message . com... One of our favorite recipes for the crockpot is very simple. Cooking this way doesn't heat up the kitchen on these hot summer days.
