Default Summer Berry Brownie Torte

Summer Berry Brownie Torte
Category: Desserts, Tarts & Pies
Yield: 10 servings
BROWNIE
3/4 cup granulated sugar
6 tbsp butter or margerine
1 tbsp water
2 cups (12-ounce package) NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate
Morsels, divided
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking soda
FILLING
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
1/4 cup granulated sugar
SAUCE
2 tbsp light corn syrup
1 tbsp butter or margerine
2 cups sliced strawberries or other fresh berries

Procedures
FOR BROWNIE:
PREHEAT oven to 350° F.
Grease and paper-line 9-inch round cake pan.
COMBINE sugar, butter and water in small, heavy-duty saucepan.
Bring to a boil, stirring constantly; remove from heat.
Add 3/4 cup morsels; stir until smooth.
Stir in vanilla extract.
Add eggs, one at a time, stirring well after each addition.
Add flour, baking soda and salt; stir until well blended.
Stir in 3/4 cup morsels.
Pour into prepared cake pan.
BAKE for 20 to 25 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center
comes out clean.
Cool for 15 minutes in pan.
Invert onto cooling rack; remove wax paper.
Turn right side up; cool completely.
FOR FILLING:
BEAT cream and sugar in small mixer bowl until stiff peaks form.
FOR SAUCE:
MELT remaining morsels, corn syrup and butter in small, heavy-duty
saucepan over low heat, stirring until smooth.
TO ASSEMBLE:
SPREAD filling over Brownie; top with strawberries.
Drizzle with Sauce.
Skill Level: Easy
