Default Vanilla Flake Cookies

Vanilla Flake Cookies

Ingredients:

2 c. sugar
1/2 c. margarine (not butter)
1/2 c. Crisco® shortening
2 T. vanilla extract
2 large eggs
1/2 c. milk
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
3 tsp. baking powder
4 1/2 c. flour
Powdered sugar

Directions:

Cream together sugar, margarine, and Crisco®. Add vanilla, eggs, and
milk.
Mix well. Add salt, baking soda, baking powder and flour. Place in
refrigerator for at least 3 hours. Remove and roll dough into small
teaspoon-size balls. Roll balls into powdered sugar. Place on
ungreased
cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees for ten minutes. After cooling,
cut off
the top, add filling, and replace top.

Filling...

Ingredients:

1/2 c. margarine
1/2 c. Crisco® shortening
1 c. granulated sugar
3/4 c. evaporated milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:

Cream together margarine and Crisco® shortening. Add sugar. Heat
evaporated
milk; cool. Add sugar mixture to the cooled milk and beat until soft
peaks
form. Add vanilla.
