CHRISTMAS GLOW DIVINITY
3 cups of sugar 3/4 cup of white corn syrup A pinch of salt 3/4 cup of water 2 egg whites 1 small package of strawberry Jell-O 1 cup of nuts Mix sugar, syrup and water. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Bring to boil, keeping covered first 3 minutes. Boil until 250ºF. firm ball stage. (Use candy thermometer.) Beat egg white until foamy. Add the gelatin gradually. Continue beating until egg whites are stiff. Pour the cooked sugar over the beaten mixture gradually and beat until firm enough to drop from teaspoon. Add nuts, drop on wax paper. This divinity cannot fail and will keep indefinitely in covered can or dish. |
