Chocolate Chippers

These cookies will always be found on the kitchen counter when guests
arrive for a stay in "Linger In".

Ingredients:
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 6 oz. (1 cup) chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Cream shortening, sugar, egg, and vanilla till fluffy. Sift together
dry ingredients; stir into creamed mixture. Stir in chocolate and
nuts. Drop from teaspoon 2 inches apart onto greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375° for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from pan. Makes three dozen.
