Default Whole-Grain Soda Bread

Whole-Grain Soda Bread

3 cups Whole Wheat Flour

1 cup All Purpose Flour

1 1/2 tsp Salt

1 tsp Baking Soda

3/4 tsp Baking Powder

1 1/2 - 2 cups Buttermilk.

Preheat oven to 350. Mix all dry ingredients together thoroughly.

Make a well in the centre and gradually mix in just enough buttermilk

to make a soft but firm dough. Shape the dough into a ball. Knead on

a floured surface for 2-3 minutes until the dough is smooth. Form

into a round load and with a floured knife make a cross through the

centre of the bread. place in a well buttered cake tin or on a baking

sheet. Bake for 34-40 minutes or until nicely browned. If the bread

sounds hollow when rapped on the bottom with the knuckles, it's done.

Let it cool before slicing.
