Default INDONESIAN BARBECUE SAUCE

INDONESIAN BARBECUE SAUCE

2 Tbls. Canola oil

1/2 cup finely chopped onion

2 cloves garlic, pressed

1 Teas. minced fresh ginger

1 Teas. crushed red pepper

1 cup Kayo light or dark corn syrup

1/4 cup soy sauce

3 Teas. cider vinegar

1/2 cup creamy peanut butter

In medium saucepan, heat Canola oil over medium heat. Add onion,

garlic, ginger and crushed red pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally

until onion is translucent. Stir in corn syrup, soy sauce and

vinegar. Bring to a boil; remove from heat. Stir in peanut butter

until melted. Brush on meat or poultry during the last 20 to 30

minutes of broiling or grilling. Discard portion of sauce used for

basting. If desired, serve any remaining sauce separately. Like me,

some people likes lots of extra sauce. Store any unused sauce in

refrigerator. Makes 2 cups. Enjoy!
