This was handed down by my Mother Southern Baked Macaroni and Cheese 1 eight oz pkg macaroni 3 eggs 1 eight oz block sharp cheddar whole milk 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard (Omit for child mild!) Salt as desired Cook macaroni as required.. Rinse with warm water.. Grate all of the cheddar.. Set one cup aside..Beat the eggs throughly.. Add the eggs, grated cheddar and mustard to the macaroni in a greased casserole.. Add enough milk to just cover the top of the macaroni.. Stir well.. Bake at 350* for 30 minutes or until the center is solid.. Remove and add the one omitted cup of cheddar you set aside on top.. Let stand for five minutes.. |
