The tree in question is a MEDLAR tree! A search on Google with the
proper spelling will give quite a few hits.

Hi, The medler tree is Mespilus Germanica from apple family. The fruit
is brown but if you picke them now they start to go soft and loo
rotten. But this is when you eat them. They have several seeds inside
but best to scoop the juice and eat them . Victorian used to make picke
with the hard fruit. But the Medler jelly is on eof the best use apprt
from eating the fresh fruit. Medler seeds (stones are used for removing
badder stones ! the Seeds are crushed and the boiled and the extract is
consumed.
I have the Jelly recipe should you wish to reciev. But I am enjoying
eating my fresh medler with great pleasure. The fruit is also duretic
..That means it cleard your badder and kidney from stones and harmful
minerals .

rotten. But this is when you eat them. They have several seeds(stones) inside
but best to scoop the juice and eat them . Victorian used to make pickle
with the hard fruit. But the Medler jelly is one of the best use apart from eating the fresh fruit. Medler seeds (stones) in middle eastern medicine are used for removing
kidney and bladder stones The stones are crushed and the boiled and the extract is
consumed. I have the Jelly recipe should you wish to receive. But I am enjoying
eating my fresh medler with great pleasure. The fruit is also diuretic That means it cleared your bladder and kidney from stones and harmful minerals .

Here is how to make Medler jelly :
Use the fruit which is nearly soft You can see it as part of it is soft
and deep brown whereas the rest is a little bit hard and is in light
brown colour. Cut some of the fruits(three pounds) into sections and
put them in a large pan. Add enough water to cover the fruit and boil
gently until the fruit is opened up and become soft. Strain off the
juice (to get rid of the skin and stones) by putting the whole result
in a jelly bag and leave it until no more juice is dripping from it.
This might take about 12 hours.
Use one pound of sugar for every pint of the juice and warm it up to
dissolve the sugar. Then bring it to boil and remove the surface scum in
this process. Once the jelly reached to its jelly consistency (due to
its high pectin content of the Medler) remove it from the fire and pour
it in a jam jar and label it to store.
That it. And good luck
