Does anyone have a good recipe for au gratin potatoes? Thanks in

Au Gratin Potatoes

2 cups milk
4 cups peeled and diced potatoes
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons butter
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons flour

Measure milk into a 2-quart saucepan. Add potatoes, salt, pepper, and
butter. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer until almost tender, about
6
minutes. Remove from heat, add cheese, and stir carefully until just
melted.
Sprinkle flour over the surface, stir gently then pour into a greased
2-quart casserole. Bake at 400° for 20 minutes, until browned.
Au gratin potato recipe serves 6.


Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

4 russet potatoes, sliced into 1/4 inch slices
1 onion, sliced into rings
salt and pepper to taste
3 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups milk
1-1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Butter a 1 quart casserole
dish. Layer 1/2 of the potatoes into bottom of the prepared casserole
dish.
Top with the onion slices, and add the remaining potatoes. Season with
salt
and pepper to taste. In a medium-size saucepan, melt butter over medium
heat. Mix in the flour and salt, and stir constantly with a whisk for one
minute. Stir in milk. Cook until mixture has thickened. Stir in cheese all
at once, and continue stirring until melted, about 30 to 60 seconds. Pour
cheese over the potatoes, and cover the dish with aluminum foil. Bake
1-1/2
hours in the preheated oven.

12 med Potatoes; cooked, chilled.. peeled & shredded
1 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Pepper
1/2 tsp Garlic salt or onion salt
2 cup (8oz) shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup Whipping cream

Preheat oven to 350°. Grease a 13x9x2" baking
dish. Mix salt, pepper and garlic salt. Layer potatoes
and seasonings in pan. Sprinkle with cheese; pour
cream over. Bake 1 hour or until golden.

Makes 12 to 15 servings.


Au Gratin Potatoes

6 servings

2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
1 small onion, chopped
1 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 cups milk
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
6 medium potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
1/4 cup dry bread crumbs
Paprika, optional

Preheat oven to 375°. Melt butter in 2-quart saucepan over medium heat.
Add
onion and cook in butter for 2 minutes until tender, stirring
occasionally.
Stir in flour, salt and pepper. Cook until bubbly, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat.
Stir in milk and heat to boiling for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove
from heat. Stir in 1 1/2 cups of cheese until melted. Spread potatoes in
ungreased 1 1/2-quart casserole. Pour cheese sauce over potatoes.
Bake for 1 hour, uncovered. Mix remaining 1/2 cup cheese and bread crumbs,
then sprinkle over potatoes. Sprinkle with paprika, if desired. Bake
uncovered for 15-20 minutes until top is brown and bubbly and potatoes are
tender.




Ham and au Gratin Potatoes

6 large potatoes, peeled and sliced
1 medium onion, coarsely chopped
1 1/2 cup ham, cooked, cubed
1 cup American cheese, shredded
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup milk
2 dashes thyme

In crockpot, layer half each of the potatoes, onion, ham and cheese;
repeat
layers.
In small bowl, combine soup, milk and thyme; pour over top of ingredients
in
crockpot. Cover; cook on HIGH for 1 hour.
Reduce to LOW setting; cook for 6 to 8 hours or until potatoes are tender.



Weight Watchers Au Gratin Potatoes

1 Tbsp butter or margarine
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
1 Tbsp flour
2 cups fat-free milk
2 lbs potatoes, thinly sliced
1 cup low-fat shredded cheddar cheese
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper

Heat oven to 375. Coat a 2 quart baking dish with cooking spray. Melt
butter
in a large pan over medium heat. Add onion and cook, stirring
occasionally,
until onion begins to brown (about 5 minutes). Stir in flour. Add milk
slowly, stirring. Add potatoes, stir to mix. Bring to a boil. Stir in 3/4
cup of the cheese, salt and pepper. Pour mixture into the baking dish and
spread out. Bake for 1 hour uncovered. Cover and bake until potatoes are
fork tender, about 20 minutes more. Change oven temperature to broil.
Sprinkle remaining cheese over potatoes and broil 6 inches from the
heating
element until the cheese is golden brown (about 1 - 2 minutes). Allow to
cool for 5 minutes before serving.

8 servings, 3 POINTS each
