Green Chile Barbecue Sauce
Recipe By: Cal Wax Published in: Viva Chile 11 ounce green chile -- roasted, peeled and chopped 1 med onion -- chopped 2 tablespoon brown sugar 2 tablespoon paprika 2 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon dry mustard 1/4 cup catsup 1/2 teaspoon black pepper 1/4 teaspoon chile powder 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder 1/4 cup vinegar 1 cup tomato juice 1/2 cup water Combine all of the ingredients and simmer 30 minutes, stirring frequently. For oven barbecuing, place a layer of ribs or pieces of chicken, in a shallow roasting pan. Spread sauce over the meat, repeating process until all meat and sauce are used. Cover pan with aluminum foil and seal. Bake in a preheated 350F oven for 1 1/2 hours; uncover and bake an additional 20 to 25 minutes. This barbecue sauce is sufficient for 3 pounds of ribs or pieces of chicken.
