Default Meat Loaf with Mushroom Gravy

Meat Loaf with Mushroom Gravy

1 1/2 lbs ground beef
1 lbs bulk pork sausage
1 Tbsp mustard seeds
1 cup onion- chop fine
3/4 cup bell pepper- green or red- chop fine
2 eggs or 1/2 cup heavy cream
1 cup plain bread crumbs
3 cloves garlic- chop fine
2 4oz cans mushroom pieces- divided & drained
1 tea black pepper
2 envelopes brown gravy mix

Combine first 8 ingredients plus one can of mushrooms. Form into a loaf.
Top with pepper. Place into deep sided baking dish. Make gravy per package
direction and add 2nd can of mushrooms. Pour over meat loaf. Pre-heat oven
to 350 degrees and bake for 90 minutes.Remove and let stand for 10
minutes. If you want a thicker gravy, place pan on stove top over high
heat. Add 2 Tbsp of flour and water and stir till thick. Serve gravy on
top or on the side. Baste meat loaf 2 times during the 90 minutes of
cooking time.
