Almost Famous WV Hot Dog Chili
1.5 Cup hamburger (with very little fat) 2.5 tsp Chili Powder 1/4 tsp Salt 1/2 tsp black pepper 1/4 tsp Tumeric 1/2 tsp Ground Mustard powder 1/4 tsp sugar 1/4 tsp barbeque seasoning 6 Tbsp Tomatoe paste 5 Tbsp ketchup 1/4 tsp regular mustard 1/2 tsp minced garlic 3 Tbsp minced onion 1 cup water In a sauce pan on high heat brown the hamburger, constantly stirring until just lightly browned and very finely crumbled. Drain any excess fat. Remove from heat and add the other ingredients. Place over medium heat stirring constantly until all ingredients are thoroughly mixed, and allow to come to a bubbling boil. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered approximately 1 hour or until all liquid is absorbed. Stir frequently. For a spicier chili add crushed red pepper to taste. Makes enough sauce for 10 hot dogs (1.5 cups). -- Rec.food.recipes is moderated by Patricia D. Hill at . Only recipes and recipe requests are accepted for posting.
