Barbecue-style Tofu
submitted by butterflydog 1 container extra firm tofu marinade: 1/3 cup oil ( olive ) 3 Tbsp creamy peanut butter 1 tsp salt 1 Tbsp paprika ( smoked paprika is good here too , but use much less ! ) 1/2 tsp garlic powder 1/4 tsp black pepper 1 tsp salt Your favorite barbecue sauce, bottled or home made Or Mayonnaise This is very tasty and if you enjoy tofu I hope you will like this as much as I do. Lay tofu slices with marinade on a baking pan and bake 400F for about 20 minutes and carefully turn over and bake another 20 minutes , so each side is somewhat browned. Remove pan from oven, spread on your favorite barbecue sauce and heat through 5 to 10 minutes in the oven. Yield: 4 servings Note: I personally like to smear mayonnaise over the tofu when it comes out of the oven. The tofu is firm on the outside with a creamy center http://www.simpleinternet.com/recipes/ International Recipes OnLine On-Line Culinary Discussion at Food.Chat: http://www.simpleinternet.com/foodchat/ -- Rec.food.recipes is moderated by Patricia Hill at .
