Grape Jelly Meatballs

Recipe By :
Serving Size : 2 Preparation Time :0:00
Categories : Appetizers

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
-------- ------------ --------------------------------
2 Chili sauce bottles
10 oz Grape jelly
3 lb Ground beef

Make meatballs (onion, catsup, salt, pepper, bread crumbs, eggs,
etc.).
Put chili sauce and jelly in pan; melt jelly well. Put in meatballs and
turn occasionally. Simmer on low for 2 1/2 hours.
I have also added different hot sauces to heat things up a bit. will
include our recipe for homemade relish or chili sauce.

Mom Bowleys Tomato Relish

Makes about 9 pints.

30 large ripe tomatoes
12 hot peppers ( we mix and match, Hungarian, jalapeno, cherry etc.)hot
peppers
adjusted to taste
4 cups sugar
3 tablespoons salt
6 medium onions
4 cups white vinegar

Grind and
mix ingredients and cook until thick. Putting in oven and baking is
easiest, takes about 6-10 hours to cook down. 300-350 degrees F. Stir
occasionally. Sugar is added in last 30 minutes of baking, keeps from
scorching so easily. A hot water bath for 5 minutes or so will insure a
seal
of the jars.
