Default Opinion on Golden Harvest Seals

Does anyone on this group use "Golden Harvest" seals.

My wife found them for $1 a box at a dollar store but we're a little
concerned about their quality.

Any thoughts on them?

Thanks in advance.

We have used them in the community kitchen that I facilitate. They
sealed. I am not sure whether they are still being made, if you can
check the date and they are quite old, I wouldn't use them. We are
paying, here in Vancouver, any where from $1.49 to almost $2.00 for
standard sized and much more for wide mouth these days.

They're very good. I use Golden Harvest jars, seals and rings all the
time and have had a lower failure rate than with the other brands. Go
for them but a $1.00 a box is higher than they sell for at the local Big
Lots, try 79 cents here.

I use Golden Harvest almost exclusively. I like the fact that the
lids don't have anything printed on them, so I have plenty of room for
writing. I've never had any problems.

I had about a 1 in 10 failure rate the one time I bought them. It was
from the 99 cent store so maybe they were old. I have about a 1 in 100
failure rate from the Ball or Kerr lids, but I hear it's all the same
company now. Still, I won't use them again unless there's no other
choice. It was nice having all that blank space to write on though.

I use them all the time. In fact, I just came back from Big Lots where
I bought 9 boxes of the regular lids for $0.99 each. If the canning
jar cases are an indication, Golden Harvest belongs to the Mason
company.
