Hi, I'm really new to growing, canning, preserving, harvesting etc.
But, is a red jalapeno just a green jalapeno that's stayed on the vine longer? Is it the same for all hot peppers? Sweet peppers? Thanks in advance. Chris |

Thanks in advance. Chris It's true for jalapenos but not for all hot chiles. I have some that ripen yellow and some ripen orange, most ripen red. Sweet chiles come in a variety of colors, green, yellow, chocolate, purple, etc. Many of those that are green at birth ripen to another color. Bell peppers generally ripen red. Do a Google search for ChileHeads, they used to have a chile chart on their website. George |
