Default More jars!

Definitely a WOO-HOO! day as far as canning supplies go. I picked up 6
dozen quarts, a dozen pints, a half-dozen quilted 12 oz. jelly jars, and
"some small jars" I haven't even looked into. Cash outlay: $0.0 .

Have people been extolling the virtues of Freecycling
(www.freecycle.com) here yet? It's a great way to get rid of those
extra things and know they'll be welcomed and used, and a great way to
pick up some things too.

Stopped at a thrift store I'd never been in for a desultory look round
for yarn, and had myself a red-letter yarn acquisition day too, but
that's a story for another group.

As soon as I get the kitchen clean (or what passes for clean around my
house) I'll be busy washing jars. For a long time. :-D

This is SPAM. The frecycle.com web site is just a way to gather info on
people to sell you things and sell your info to others. Read their Privacy
Policy. The web site says there are no hidden catches. The policy adds 6
things that you have to do before you get anything.

You have been warned.

As a member of several groups in the freecycle.org network, I don't know
what you are going on about.

There is no 'privacy policy' at www.freecycle.org that I have found. The
purpose of the groups is to keep things out of landfills by promoting waste
reduction.

I've been amazed at both what some people will ask for and what others will
offer.

------quote from freecycle.org--------
One rule: everything posted must be free. Whether it's a chair, a fax
machine, piano, or an old door to be given away, it can be posted on the
network. Or, maybe you're looking to acquire something yourself? Respond to
the posting directly and you just might get it. After that it is up to the
giver to set up a pickup time for passing on the treasure.

------------
Check it out. I'm glad I did.

Deb, when Elizabeth posted (the OP) she named freecycle dot com and went
on to extoll its virtues. Jack went there and took exception to
their (the dot com's) policies and practices. Elizabeth came back and
said she goofed -- she meant to name freecycle.ORG in her OP. They are
clearly not the same operation and Jack was giving a warning.
No harm, no foul. :-)

no worries! I followed this thread, went to freecycle-dot-ORG and
joined my local group. And I JUST missed out on a box of jars. Maybe
I'll get lucky and score free jars like you did .... eventually.
Thanks for the tip Elizabeth.
