Default Red Wine B**ts

It looks so nice on the counter - a double batch produced 15 pints, just
right on the syrup (I added another cup of red wine), including three 12 oz
fancy jars of fancy cut b**ts (shape of suns?stars?, lots of points). I'd
like to pick up some more big b**ts for another batch of fancy cuts - the
big ones waste less. Usually the waste on the fancy cut is about 50%. Never
really wasted tho, I keep the cooked bits for salads and smoothies. May also
make a batch of ordinary pickled beets with leetle onions, just for a lark,
you understand. When Mama was alive, I'd use the leftovers for borscht.

You just HAVE to post the recipe for Beet Smoothies. I just KNOW Barb is
chomping at the bit to try one of those.

Be wary and beware! I read something about that in a magazine I gave to
friend recently, so you know it's true!
Contained mashed sweet potatoes, beets and some other healthful stuff like
tofu and no-fat cottage cheese.
