Miz Anne and I interviewed and hired a new puppy this afternoon. Her
name is Tilly Dawg Shirley and she is a tri-color minature Rat Terrier
four months of age.

She has found a safe place for a teeny dog under a table in the corner
of our living room. She may be able to stay under there forever as
neither of her parents exceeds 10 lbs.

Now I have to train her how to help when I'm canning stuff.

Wonderful. I'm happy for you and Miz Anne.

Make sure she (T.D.) knows how to bring you the pearls
when you start canning.

Though she will never replace Sleepy Dawg, love her for being her and let
her get used to see a man in pearls and heels gently as you don't want to
have to pay for a 'pet psychic' to tell you that her psyche is distressed.
I hear they are rather expensive.

Good for you and Miz Anne. You have enough love to share with a little
doggy who needs to be loved.

Just got her back from the beauty parlor. Had a manicure, pedicure,
shampoo, last of her puppy shots and her annual rabies shot. On the 23rd
of this month she gets spayed.

There are photos of Tilly and of Sleepy at:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/gunner68/ along with some of our garden
stuff and Miz Anne's paintings.

Be careful, if she learns what spayed means. It won't be cats between
the feet for dropped food, but tripping that evil human at the top of
the staircase.....

Well, nothing against Miss Tilly Dawg, but I believe Sleepy was
prettier. Mostly, though, I'm loving Miz Anne's crawfish boil and
magnolia.

Miz Anne and I would have to agree with that assessment. Tilly is still
a lively puppy and we're doing our best to housebreak her.

This afternoon we're having a memorial service for Sleepy. Some friends
who loved her almost as much as we did are coming over and we will
scatter her ashes under the fruit trees in the backyard, one of her
favorite places to lounge about and watch us work in the garden.

We really enjoyed the tribute you did for Sleepy on your webpage as did
many of our friends and especially the veterinary hospital staff who
were very fond of Sleepy. Thank you so much.

George and Anne
