In the past 45 minutes I have gone through two complete rolls of bags
trying to find one that will seal and stay sealed. The food vacuum my wife just brought home works fine, it sucks out all of the air just fine, and it (appears to) seals just fine, however, within 60-90 seconds of me taking the bags out of the sealer, they're sitting on the countertop re-inflating with air. I've checked the seals for cracks, tears, uneven parts.... The only thing I haven't done is put the bags in a sink full of water and squeeze to see where the air is coming out of, and I'm about to do that now. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions or advice? The sealer works great, the bags just won't stay airtight! Thanks |

I would check the area of the seals to see if for whatever reason the bags
are not sealing due to uneven heating on the sealer bar. I've heard of defective bags but it's rare. Chuck "bolt thrower" wrote in message ... I get this occasionally with my FoodSaver Brand sealer. When Creating the bags I make 2 seals on each end. (So you seal it, then immediately seal it again about 1/4 of an inch away, just in case. How did you make out with putting it under water? ~Liss |
