I've got loads of pears in the garden and would be greatful for any recipes which are spicy e.g spiced pears/pear chutney/ any recipes using ginger. Sarah The Ball Blue Book's Pears in Brandy was fabulous. There's about a cup of brandy in the batch IIRC. Can post later if you want. Edrena |

Edrena I might add that any recipe for canned apples can be readily used for pears with good success. I have recipes for creme de menthe pears and cinnamon pears made with "red hot" candies that I can post given time to type them in. I also can pear halves in light syrup for use in desserts at a later time. You can make pear sauce using the recipe for apple sauce, and I can pear slices in light syrup for making pies and cobblers in the winter. George George |

Dry 'em, and then use them in a spiced dried fruit compote or dried pear pie. They take up much less space dried and you have the versatility of doing whatever you want with 'em. B/ |
