Hi can someone please help me I have purchased a chiminea and have been told that these use to be used for making bread? if so does anyone please have a recipe and how to cook. thanks Dave I do not mean to offend. But you just bought a share of the Brooklyn Bridge. Bread is made in special ovens and not in deco chimneys which are recent inventions for tourists. They have no past history. Wayne |

They have no past history. Hmmmmmm. The tandoor, which isn't Mexican, is used for bread baking depending on what you call bread. And scores of 'beehive ovens' all over southern New Mexico surely can't be dedicated to pizzas. A quesadilla baked in a chiminea with a bed of mesquite coals might be interesting. |

wrote: chiminea The typical chiminea today is a small clay outdoor fireplace sold in patio departments. Here is a picture for you http://hearth.com/what/chimineause.html If the OP has anything other type, it's up to him/her to clarify. I posted seveal sites with lots of "how tos" for baking in outdoor ovens on a different ng in response to the OPs post there. Practice safe eating - always use condiments |
