Hello All!
This is my first time in a group and my first posting. I started a website called www.bestpastarecipes.com. It's up and running now but I have a message stating that it is in progress and will officially open in July, 2006. I know when my wife and I go to restaurants we often run into the same boring kinds of pasta dishes. We recently went to a restaurant here in Orange County (I don't know if it's okay to say the name so I won't). This owner has come up with some of the most full-flavored dishes we've ever had. This place has inspired me to have a web site were some of the best, most innovative and tastiest pasta dishes can be found. I thought it might be fun to have people submit their best recipes, have a featured recipe once a week perhaps, and have members rate each one. After three months recognize the winner with a special recognition article with a picture and short bio. What do you all think of the concept? Do you see any flaws in it? I haven't looked at a ton of other recipe sites - are there a million people already doing the same thing? Is there any other thing that you think might make it more fun or interesting? I wanted to keep the prize big enough to draw interest but not so big that it takes the fun out of it or intimidates people causing them to defer to " the pros. " What would be an amount that would draw interest but not be too intimidating or make people think this is so big they don't have a chance. Should I even make the prize for the top recipe a monetary one or just keep it as recognition with the winners picture and a short bio. Has anyone in this group tried this? How did it go? Any suggestions from anyone would be welcome. Thankyou, Mike |
