Here's a recipe I found while looking for something on a different
topic today http://wusa9.com

Minuteman's Beef Stew
(from the Brasserie Les Halles Liberty Festival Menu 2005)

You will need:
1 pound beef chunk roast
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
16 oz beef broth
teaspoon salt
teaspoon black pepper
1 bay leaf
1 medium onion
1 clove of garlic
1 medium potato
2 carrots

How to make it:
* cut the meat into bite-size pieces
* heat the oil in a large heavy pot on a medium high heat. Gently add
the meat.
* Stir with a large spoon until the meat is brown all over this will
take about 15 min.
* pour the beef broth over the meat and lower the heat under the pot.
* Add salt, pepper and bay leaf.
* Wait until the broth starts to boil, stir than cover the pot and
simmer on low heat for 1 hour and a half.
* while the beef is cooking peel the potatoes and carrots and cut them
into bit size pieces.
* Peel and mince the garlic.
* After the beef has simmered for 1 hour and _ add the onions the
carrots the garlic and the potatoes, bring it to a boil over low heat
* Cover pot and simmer for 30 min more
* serve the stew nice and hot with bread and butter.
