So, call me an idiot. It is blasphemous .. A work conceded by all concerned
to be fiction that knowingly distorts the meaning of sacred text .. all in

For all its irreverence, that is not what most exercises me. What bothers
me is the claims of so many unchurched that it is true in some sense (though
unproven) - that Christ had a wife.

I can live with DVC. Dan Brown shows himself willing to flip the bird at
sacred text to earn a few bucks. "You cannot love God and money" and it is
clear where Brown stands. But, I will not passively sit back and abide
those who claim there is some factual basis to his garbage. There is more

I know I'm new to the newsgroup so I'll just jump right in with both
feet I agree, it is a work of fiction. You don't see people
getting up in arms about the Narnia films, even tho' the "Church"
somewhat endorses the movies based on good vs. evil. Religion is
based on faith and if your (not you personally) faith is so fragile
that this movie knocks you for a loop then maybe some time in church
and/or in prayer is order. I'll get off my soapbox now. Personally I
liked the book, didn't care for the ending, but overall it was an
interesting read.

Jesus.
It's an insult for all Christians.

Why is it an insult?
He is free to make money in any way he sees fit. He makes money buy
telling stories. Many do.
If you truly believe in Jesus, then this little work of fiction
shouldn't upset your deep held beliefs.
If you don't believe in Jesus, then the work of ficton affects you even
less.

This book/movie is as based in fact as "National Treasure". Do I
believe there is a treasure map on the back of the Constitution drawn
in invisable, holographic ink? Hell no. It was still an enjoyable
movie, though.

So, based on your response. You are special because 'you believe' and
should not be subject to anything that you may find offensive?

Oh puleeeze! with all that smooching in the garden of gesthename and his

Christians brutally suppress and wipe out many religions and then get
upset when someone begins to question their own christian myths, what
hypocrisy, but then that is probly the most prominent feature of
'christianity'. The hypocrisy of the adherents to the religion is
obvious to everyone but them.
