Maybe they're trying to cull the large flocks in anticipation of bird
flu coming. In that event, I would hope they'd slaughter and
incinerate, but I doubt the health departments could countermand Big
Business's demands.

Now isn't THAT an interesting thought!

Default Vittles Prices (WAS: Chickens Everywhere

"Gregory Morrow" writes:

I can beat that -- last week Treasure Island here in Chicawgo (my main
store) had skin - on, bone - in breast for .$.79/pound. At times
boneless, skinless breasts have been $.99/pound. Been eatin' LOTS of
chicken...

Gah. You guys have been making me jealous. Chicken was expensive
this week -- I bought 3 large breasts for $11. $5/pound, I guess. And
I can't ever find any wings/necks/pieces parts for making stock, so I
guess they don't sell them.
The pre-packaged pre-seasoned pre-cooked Tyson chicken this week was
half the price of the fresh chicken. Made me want to cry.
Nothing is ever cheap here in Kansas. They ship out the good stuff to
you guys and we're left with the crap. The little bit of good meat or
produce left behind costs an arm and a leg. I suppose I could live on
fish fingers and Tuna Helper, but I'd like to not die before I'm 40.

Caray! Yeah, that's the ticket!! Harry Belafonte, dearie. Island in
the Sun; Suzanne (Cohen's), Matilda, and on and on and on. Be still my
heart. (Rob's not worried - he knows where I sleep.)
I haven't heard some of those names in years!!! You've just dated me,
PAL!
