Can I slap you even if it's not too personal? Just wondering. You know, like at Thanksgiving, if you spend enough money in the weeks preceding, you get a free turkey? This is the Easter promotion, you can get either a free ham or a free turkey breast if you spend $300 in some 4 weeks or so. nancy |

Christine Nearly 40 years ago I was served this by a lady who went to the church where I sang in the choir. I don't have the recipe handy, but I can find it if you're interested. Essentially, it's a mixture of 2 parts ground ham to 1 part ground pork, cracker crumbs, eggs, evaporated milk, and seasonings. This is formed into a loaf. The loaf is basted and glazed with a mixture of brown sugar, dry mustard, spices, and cider vinegar. She served the ham loaf with a carrot, pineapple, and raisin salad, green beans with browned butter and almonds, and pan-fried sweet potatoes. It was a delicious homey meal that I occasionally duplicate. -- Wayne Boatwright @¿@¬ _____________________ |

"-) Regards, Of course I knew you were kidding, Dufus. I'm sorry you didn't know that *I* was, too. :-P Well, if not kidding, at least saying in good humor. :-) . (I *was* ahead of the curve on a couple of those hobbies) It takes a lot to seriously get my back up on a news group -- it's not worth the aggravation. I just killfile, not as some sort of deranged punitive measure, but to save *myself* the aggravation of, well, being aggravated. She Who Shall Remain Nameless said I don't like her. That's not really true -- I don't know her except by her posts and I just don't do well with such strident stuff. So I killfiled her. To spare myself. And she said she doesn't like me, either. That being the case, I would think she'd be pleased that she wouldn't have to deal with anything I post, instead of kvetching about me "being above answering her." rolls eyes Oy. Somebody get the Hug Rug. I try to stay out of the ****ing contests (sometimes its easier to do than at other times) because they're just not productive and mostly because if I don't have any investment in the information, I just don't care. AFA building a theme on the contrived anger stuff of those other threads, let it go. (No joke.) Enough is enough is more than enough. http://jamlady.eboard.com Updated 4-2-06, Church review #11 "If it's not worth doing to excess, it's not worth doing at all." |
