OK, what am I missing? I'm using Mozilla Thunderbird. I go to create
filter from message and do the obvious, and still he gets through.

Can somebody advise me, please?

He often changes the number in his address, its been so long since i
have seen one of his posts to remember exactly but its something like
"@somethingorother4" and he has a dozen or so of them.

If i understand it correctly, "Mozilla" and the "Netscape" browser i use
are someway related or vaguely similar and the netscape 7 i use creates
the mail filter with a single button command too do so, you just have to
do so every time you see one of his posts and you will find he has got a
dozen or so alias's that are different only by one number.

I wondered about that for a while, i would create a 'chung' mail filter
and he still got through. So when i examined the log the mail filter
keeps i noticed the tiny difference in each address that i had filed.

And very occasionally he will slip through with a new variation that is
immediately filed with the rest.

I assume its a lot more work for him to keep coming up with new
addresses than it is for me or anyone else to filter them.

I also routinely filter any one who responds to him, especially those
posters who are obviously not contributors to RFC, i can usually
recognize a regular RFC'er and not filter them.

My last contribution to a Chung diatribe was a quotation by Goncourt "If
there is a god he is probly less offended by atheism than he is by
religion." And i was told in reply "Not to mock God."

The Fine Art of Cooking involves personal choice.
Many preferences, ingredients, and procedures
may not be consistent with what you know to be true.

As with any recipe, you may find your personal
intervention will be necessary. Bon Appetit!

The trick is to not filter on the entire address. Mozilla has a
"contains" filter.

Easy. Kill the *threads* as they pop up. Gets rid of everything
involving Chung. I intentionally don't KF him, because his name is a
signal for me that I don't want anything to do with that thread.

Peace,
Carol (still on Google for a couple weeks)

I KF everyone *and* his threads unless I recognize a RFC poster. The
crossposts seem to be seasonal, like the flu.

I don't KF addresses.

Killfilling anything crossposted to alt.atheism seems to
do the job for Mr. Chung.

Don't worry, be happy... and fire at will.

If you post to a thread I've Kill Filed, you're effectively KFed
there... but you aren't specifically KFed (unlike at least 3 other
regulars here), so I see you in the threads I haven't KFed - like this
one. LOL! I went through my rather short and manageable KF yesterday
and reset many of the filters to expire 5 or 10 days after the "last"
post (subject or author). If they come back, I'll reKill them
providing they haven't changed the error of their ways. It ain't hard
to do with Agent.

The one thing I need to figure out is how to effectively KF entire
cross posted newsgroups. Agent warns us of cross posting, so we can
reply to all or just the current ng. But when I entered specific ngs
in my filter manually, the filter didn't immediately cleanse rfc of
the offending posts the way it does when I KF authors or subjects...
so I'm not sure what I did wrong or if it's even possible.

Thanks, I'll give it a try... I didn't know I could move the ngs
around and out of alphabetical order. Don't you find this process is
cumbersome and takes longer than just deleting whatever makes it into
rfc? We also have to filter out several alt.skinhead groups now.

I am using 3.2 now. I forget what you can do with 2.0. I think you
can use Agent Group Order. Check Google for the URL.

I am enjoying 3.2 but there is a learning curve.
