... Is there a decent dressing that doesn't have the above in it? I'm starting a catabolic diet with lots of vegetables , but the vege's are pretty hard to eat without something on it. Thanks, You might try rice vinegar (also called rice wine vinegar) and add salt, pepper, and herbs. It's milder than other vinegars. A bit of splenda would add a sweet note. Maybe some soy sauce too. Is there a decent dressing that doesn't have the above in it? I'm starting a catabolic diet with lots of vegetables , but the vege's are pretty hard to eat without something on it. I prefer "creamy" style dressings and make my own using fat-free sour cream, fat-free mayo, and buttermilk (.5% fat). I vary the mixture, but add vinegar, Splenda, herbs, and spices. I haven't grown tired of these dressings and use them on salads and as dips for veggies. It's been a great addition to my Weight Watcher's diet. The sour cream and buttermilk are sugar-free. I'm not positive about the mayo. -- Wayne Boatwright o¿o ____________________ BIOYA |

I make a tasty dressing using low fat or no fat plain yoghurt with minced garlic, a squeeze of lime, a dash of salt and pepper, and sometimes an herb like thyme or basil. Be sure to get a good yoghurt like Pavel's Russian or equivalent not Yoplait or Dannon which are more-and-more like pudding or flan as the years go by. |
