Nope. Wonder where this "someone" heard it? We used to buy peanuts raw
when we were kids, and my father used to roast them in a huge pan -
skins and all - and none of us have died from it Thanks for the
happy memory.

Cheers

Probably only unhealthy because they stick in your teeth, and my be a bit
hard to digest (fiber? might be a good thing eh?) I usually pull them off
because they're a bit bitter to me.

Nope. I use red-skinned raw spanish peanuts to make peanut brittle. You
think I'm going to waste my time peeling the skin off each individual
peanut? That's just *nuts*

I heard something about it too; I dimly recall some lawyer in southern
Calif. is suing a peanut company because his client almost suffocated when
he inhaled a bunch of loose peanut skins from the bottom of a can of
peanuts.

Sounds like an allergic reaction to me but inhaling any solid matter
is asking for trouble.

The lawyer and his client should be imprisoned in pillories and pelted with
rotten fruit and dead fish.

Well there we get into the peanut allergy thing again. What was he doing
sniffing a peanut can, anyway? This is like someone who doesn't expect hot
coffee to be hot. BTW, I'm not the OP who asked the question.

They're my favorite part of the peanut. I also love the woody skins on
pistachios.
