Default Fusilli bucati with cauliflower, anchovies and black olives (photo and recipe)

Hello my friends. I hope you like this pasta I have invented this morning
for you!
We tasted it and it was very very nice!
Very simple to do:

The kind of pasta I have used is this:

http://images.google.com/imgres?imgu...lr%3D%26sa%3DG

Here the recipe:

PASTA WITH CAULIFLOWER, ANCHOVIES AND BLACK OLIVES

Category: First dish
Nb persons: 2

200 g Fusilli - (bucati corti Barilla)
2 1/2cups boiled cauliflower - (half medium raw
-cauliflower )
3TBS black olives - sliced
3/4 cup olive oil - EVOO
5 medium anchovies - under oil
1/2 cup parsley - chopped
2 cloves garlic - whole
salt - (quantity as you like)
1/2 hot chili pepper - chopped
1/2 cup Romano cheese - (or Reggiano cheese grated).

Step 1: Boil cauliflower, and drain when it is soft. Let it cool then
season it in a saucepan: put 3-4 TBS of olive oil, garlic and hot chili
pepper; when garlic is browned put cauliflower and salt, mushing it with a
fork for some minutes. When all is mixed throw away garlic.
While pasta is cooking (it is ready when is very "al dente"), prepare the
other part of seasonings:
put in a large saucepan (I have used wok), the remained oil, and anchovies
and cook till anchovies are liquefied. Then add cauliflower, olives and
parsley and mix well. Drain pasta, put in the wok, add grated cheese and mix
speedly at low fire.
Have a nice meal !

Where in hell did you get your concept of presentation... that is the
most disgusting looking pasta dish I've ever seen... looks like some
sort of exotic grubs all shiny with pachyderm ejaculate.

It's the lighting, Sheldon. She's a cook, not a photographer. Unless
someone's got all sorts of lighting apparatus for diffusing the camera
flash, food should be photographed with existing daylight from a window.

Hey....I'm trying to be encouraging, especially because without the
pictures, the recipe sounds quite good. I just made something like it, using
squid, pasta, black olives (Greek, marinated in red wine), capers and fresh
tomatoes. Awesome.

it sounds delicious....but when I got o the 84 grams of fat per
serving, I decided not to save the recipe.....I'm sure lots of the
cream-based sauces I make have that tons of fat, but you don't have to
TELL me! =)

I have noticed that too and I wonder where is the fat. There is only olive
oil, oil and some cheese)
Perhaps you can reduce the oil
Cheers

Well, the olives definitely add some fat, but I think it's the amount
of oil that's soaked into the anchovies that adds all that fat.

But itsounds delicious!!

Well, I love 'em both, then. :-)

James mostly likes to have spaghetti when we have pasta. I can serve
other things, but if he has his preference, it will always be
spaghetti. I would get bored if I always served the same pasta,
though.
