The last two thumbnails are pix of my dog. http://www.julia.rocky-dog.com/index.htm --Lia he's cute...looks a lot like my last dog (could never find him in the dark, unless he had his mouth open and panting, with teeth and tongue showing...looking like he was laughing at me!) and those quilts are GORGEOUS!! (You can tell she's a girl by the spelling of her name. The extra letters on Cubbe make it feminine. Otherwise, she'd be Cub, as in, a face like a bear cub.) She has the black gums of a Chow, the extra furry neck, the curly tail and straight hind legs. What she's mixed with is anybody's guess. Something smaller, less furry, possibly something in the hound family. Thanks for the compliments on the quilts. I haven't completed anything new in ages. That's the main reason for my resolution to spend less time on usenet. You can see how well I'm doing with that. I should be spending more time in the sewing room actually making stuff instead of talking about it on various Internet groups. The same goes for cooking. I seem to spend all my time collecting recipes and thinking about what to make. Then when it comes time for actual eating, I stay stuck in my same old ruts. I've decided to subscribe to Cooks Illustrated and start trying the recipes. (I like the format and the way the reasons behind the techniques are described.) Last night I took a stab at the hot and sour soup before realizing I didn't have most of the ingredients. I ended up with a tasty Chinese style vegetable-chicken soup. Today I bought toasted sesame oil and chili oil. --Lia |
