Great face shot! :-)

I adopted a Pembroke Welsh Corgi a couple of days before Christmas.
I don't need another dog tho', she was adopted for my Sister and Brother
in law. They will be picking her up the end of this Month.

But, I've fallen in love with her. She is SUCH a smart little dog! 8
months old. I think she is going to be the perfect dog for the hyper
nephew to play with. They should wear each other out. G

Her name is Chelsea:

One thing for sure, when I am in the market for another dog (no rush of
course!), I will go to Petfinders.com and adopt another discarded adult
corgi! Seriously cool little dogs.....

oh i love corgis, they really are great dogs. Ghengis has a great time with
the corgis that show up at the dog park.

They DO love to play!!!!!! :-)

Both of my dogs are from petfinder and all of my friends who are looking

for a
dog get sent there by me. It's a great site.

Yes it is. I've not adopted a dog from there yet, but I have gone
"window shopping". We have 6 other dogs. Considering the amount of love
and attention they need, that is almost too many....

I personally _prefer_ to adopt adult dogs! Longer attention spans,
easier to train IMHO. Puppies are cute but I really don't have time to
deal with the special needs they require. I have to be honest with
myself, and fair to the pup. G

I got ghengis as a puppy and I loved the puppy time, but never again. I don't
ever want to potty train a puppy again. I also don't ever want to find chewed
rolls of toilet paper all over the house, chewed carpet, and certainly dn't
want to deal with jealous puppy when I am trying to have a date.

I got Maddie this summer, she was 4 1/2 years old, she was already trained and
very calm. However, in classic shar pei mode, she refused to 'sit' on command
for the first couple weeks, she would walk away whenever I would command it.
Then we bonded and now she would follow me into hell if I had to go.

I was thinking about that last night, I'm pretty sure he's
the happiest dog on
the planet. He has the happiest disposition I've ever seen
in a dog.
Everything is part of an elaborate scheme to bring him
fun.

He is soooo cute. Love those little legs. What's his name?

D named him Lefty after the Townes Van Zandt song "Pancho and Lefty."
Apparently the next one's gonna be Pancho. He's a funny little guy,
too. He discovered himself in the mirror in our bedroom this evening
and tried to play. He even ran into the next room to find that other
dog.

He's a cutie, M. Glad you're gonna get another one to keep him
company. You and D will still be leader of the pack tho!

TammyM, leader of her own pack

OBFood: I made the grilled curried chicken thighs too salty tonight.
Too much fish sauce in the marinade, and then I reduced it. Oh well.

I've got both my dogs passed out right now, they sure had a hell of a time at
the dog park today. Maddie is shar pei through and through and her only goal
in life is to protect me from every perceived threat and thug it up when she
has the chance. We've been working on this with some success, but tonight her
instincts got the best of her and she tangles with a huskie. Maddie is not a
big dog, she's tall but very slender, weighing in at about 34 pounds. I
cleaned and ointmented 7 or 8 cuts on her face and one puncture through her
ear.

and in a move I had never seen before, Ghengis decided he was gonna take down
that bitch who hurt his Maddie so he had to fight except he's not a fighter
and he's too damned short. Luckily, he came out of it unscathed. I was
apologizing to that guy, I felt really bad. Luckily his dog was completely
unhurt since it wasn't her fault at all.

So, instead of enrolling Ghengis in obedience refresher, we enroll Maddie in
animal behavior classes.

Aw, a great dog! How old is he now?

Uh, Blair, I have a stupid question... Whenever I see your name I realize
I'm confused about how you pronounce Houghton. Is it Hough(ton) as in
"dough" or "huff"(ton)? It's always been a question in my mind because there
was a Hough Avenue where I used to live and it was pronounced "huff".

Dino is pushing 6. Kind of an oldster for a seizure-dog.
Probably because we tuned his meds really well so he
seizes infrequently yet doesn't stumble around in a narcotic
haze all the time.

The former. I get everything under the sun, though. Huffton, Howton,
Hoffton, Hooton, Hewton, Haughton; even had a baseball coach who
called me "Hutchison", but, then, his job was baseball coach...
