Should've recognized the simpering text from your OP

Hi, Ranger. What does "OP" mean, please.

how safe? i didn't think the op was trolling. most trolls are trying to
incite some sort of dischord. even if it was a troll it worked... you
responded didn't you?

But then there are those here who think that *I* am a troll....so where does
*that* leave *you*...???

In this particular case, "Original Post." It can also double as
Original Poster.

two oz. and [BOOM!] your eyes roll back in your head putting you in
an 10-hour coma, all while instantly dissolving your internal bone

deboned myself right there on his floor, blissfully squashing seven
guests."

Nope, just go in and act as if you have a right to
be there! Which you do. And don't let them seat you
in a less desirable location - next to the kitchen
for instance.

Kate, who is often the "Lone Diner"

Ha! Reminds me of the time I went - alone - to visit the MOMA in NYC, and
went to their cafeteria to have brunch. It was *totally* empty (I was
early), and they sat me at the very worst table - near the kitchen doors,
like you say. After one minute pondering, I stood up and said to the Maître
D that I wanted another table. She gave it to me.

I've never gone to a restaurant alone. Should I call in advance and
ask if they accomodate single diners?

There's a new restaurant that I'd I'd like to try that doesn't require
reservations for lunch, but the truth is that I'm not comfortable
going to a fine restaurant by myself. Is there some kind of etiquitte
involved?

Could any restaurant owners, managers, wait staff members reply? I
know it must sound silly to some, but it would help me greatly.

You can request a table for two. Make sure they leave two menus. To

make

yourself look less conspicuous, carry on a conversation with your

invisible

friend. Order for "both" of you when the waiter comes. At the end,

tell

your "friend" you had a wonderful meal and urge him to leave a big tip

when

he pays the bill.

Invisible friend? rubs chin

I can't tell if you are trying to be funny or sarcastic?

Don't you hate that on Usenet?

Hate? Don't know the meaning of the word : )

Thanks all.

Go and be happy; but you really need to make some friends.

Somehow, I find it hard to believe that you have many friends. You
certainly have no sense.

Perhaps it is you that has no sense of humor.

You can dish it out but you can't take it.

See you next Tuesday.
