In a previous rented flat I tried to dismantle the oven door to clean
it,
and one of the glass sheets shattered like a windscreen - glass flew
everywhere - missing my face by millimetres.

Not only that but I couldn't afford to replace the oven door and had a
crap
landlord, so had to do without an oven for 6 months.... :-(


good heavens. I would learn to live with a dirty oven in that case

Maybe I should mention the one with the exploding door was some cheap thing
from MFI... a Hygena QA. And the one I have now, similar design door, is a
Valor.
