There is a long held Hindu belife that drinking ones urine is good for
you. There is lots of info on the google about this kind of
thing. To the best of my knowledge he did it while in prison but I
don't know if he did it on the outside of a cell.

Over all the practice is pretty safe as long as you are drinking
plenty of water and are resonably healthy. I am not an expert so I
would recomend a google search on the topic.
