Or, after you "boil" & cut up your chicken, saute in butter or olive oil
some garlic and green onions (or shallots) with some nice large shrimp,
when the shrimp is cooked add the chicken, heat through and pour in a
half cup or so of good white wine and let reduce a bit. Season to taste
with salt and pepper and serve with pasta.

Well, yes, San Francisco bay area. About 1 & 1/2 years ago i was
forced, due to a physical disability, to start shopping at a local
"China town" only a few blocks from my domicile. Got a great big, fat
eggplant there for 50 cents (U.S.) yesterday.

I went into my regular "posh" market the other day, i was with a friend
who insisted on shopping there, and was amazed at the cost of their
veggies, which, to be precise, is not so much an issue as is the major
discount at the "Chinatown".

I can take a nice walk and come back with a 3 dollar bag of fruits and
veggie that will last me all week, a single eggplant at the posh place
would cost me 3 dollars.
