Default stuffed bread, not the right name but can't remember......

I once made this recipe, but have lost it and can't remember the name of the
dish. It is an Italian dish, using yeast dough, and the middle of it had a
sausage/onion mixture. It was about 2 1/2 maybe 3 inches high, round, and
approximately the size of a medium pizza. It wasn't called pizza. I'm
looking all over the net for it and can't find the name mentioned anywhere.
Does anyone know this dish?

Unless that can be made in more than a single serving, I don't think so.
Can it? This would serve about 6, cut in pie shaped wedges. I'll have to
look up stromboli. It's a start, yes?

Okay, just checked on stromboli, and that sounds right, wasn't called that
but it seems put together in the same manner.

Thanks all

Isn't stromboli rolled up like a jelly roll? I've never
been near one, but looked up the recipe once because of the
movie... the recipe absolutely sounded vile.

How on earth could a stromboli sound vile? Delicious stuffed bread.

Besides a calzone, it could be a brioche. Generally you take two equal
pieces of dough, spread them out, and put some kind of filling in the
middle. Then you pinch the edges down and bake. It is not a calzone
because it is normal bread, not pizza dough.

Different minds. I've never tasted it or seen it (as I
stated), but the recipe sounds like pure "blechk" to me.

Foccacia is just an inch or less thick bread with "stuff"
on top.
