REC: Low-Carb Orange Moussee
It only takes a few minutes to whip up this tasty treat. This
also fits into a fat-fast diet since less than 5% of the calories are from carbs and 90% of the calories are from fat. Orange Mousse - a recipe from Mike Muth This is another low-carb variation on a theme. Instead of the Jell-O, you could use a sugar free syrup and a package of gelatine. In that case increase the sucralose by 2 drops. Makes 8 four ounce servings. 320 Calories, 3.5 grams net carbs, 32 grams fat per serving. 1 pint heavy whipping cream 8 oz cream cheese 1 cup Greek yogurt 6 drops liquid sucralose 1 pkg sugar-free orange Jell-O Pour the cream into a mixing bowl. Sprinkle 1/2 of the Jell-O on the cream. Add the sucralose. Allow to stand for a couple of minutes. Mix on low speed. Gradually increase speed until you are on your mixer's highest speed. Continue whipping the cream until it stiffens beyond normal whipped cream's texture. In a separate bowl, whip the cream cheese until it is lighter and has a smooth, soft texture. Add the rest of the Jell-O. Add the yogurt. Mix this as you did the whipped cream, but only until the ingredients are well mixed. Fold in the whipped cream. Thoroughly mix the mousse until it has an even, creamy texture and appearance. Chill. -- Mike |
