Default Rival Crockpots.

This is an article in yesterday's paper.

Company orders cookers recalled.

Washington - Some 1.8 million Rival slow cookers are being recalled after 45
reports of handles breaking and 14 people being burned by hot contents. The
Holmes Group of Milford, Mass., which makes the cooker, and the Consumer
Product Safety Commission have advised consumers to stop using the product
immediately. The cooker has a removable ceramic bowl inside a metal base.
The Rival logo is printed on the front of the unit above the control knob.

Ottawa Sun,,,August 11th.

I emailed the company,,,as my crockpot is missing the left handle, the screw
somehow fell inside the outer pot itself.

Epoxy glue is your friend. I heavily glued my handle when it cracked. It is
ok now, but not a thing of beauty, which bothers me not.

Thanks much for posting this link. My mom just picked up what appeared
to be a relatively new-looking rival crock-pot at her church bazaar. I
hadn't even used it yet and so didn't realize that the handle was,
indeed, broken.
