Default Food safety question about cooked meat at room temp

I grilled some pork chops and salmon tonight but when I put them in a
tupperware contained I forgot to put it in the fridge. Just noticed
it after about 3-4 hours out. I know the regular time for the danger
zone is 2 hours but does having it covered in a sealed container help
at all?

personally i wouldn't worry about 3 or 4 hours. i know it doesn't fit into
the time limits that food can be in the danger zone. i'd eat it. i too
occasionally forget to put food in the fridge and it sits out for an extra
couple of hours. i don't think its that big of a deal. hell, i remember
plenty of times as a kid, i'd eat pizza that sat out all night in the card
board box and i never once got sick from it. not that its a great idea to
eat pizza thats been out for 12 to 16 hours but hey, it was there and i was
hungry :P

Well I ate it and suffered no ill effects. I had a friend at work eat
half of it to make me feel better.
