help! somewhere on TV this week I saw someone making a crockpot dish with
apples.. I thought it was kind of like a apple pie - whatever the topping mix was they placed 1/3 of it on the bottom, tapped it down than the apples, which were premixed with some sugar and spices (like pie/crumble/cobbler) then the remainder of the topping mix was put on top. I have looked at all the apple crockpot recipes I could find on the web, searched food TV since that may be where I saw it. Can not find it.. Oh...and it uses oats- quick cook oats I believe.. or am I crazy and dreamed I saw this recipe...! -- Laura |

Hey Laura,
Sounds like it could be a modified apple crisp. Put some toppping on the bottom, and it'll turn gooey. Sounds pretty good, actually. For topping like that, you can use a variety of things--(+brown sugar, butter, flour): oats, nuts, grape-nuts, granola, Rice Krispies, etc. Let us know if you try it. Cheers! Jeff |
