when I was told that the slice cost $2.90. To me, it seems like a lot,

In Seattle, at one local pizza place I go to a slice of plain cheese
is $1.75, with additional toppings at 55 cents.

At another, I don't remember exactly, but it seems to me that the prices
ranged from around $1.75 to $3.50, depending on what was on the slice in
question.

Ah -- Forest Hills. Our favorite place there used to be Mike's Pizzieria (not even
sure if that was the official name) near Fleet St, across from King Kullen. But
that was so many years ago!

I see where it is on their map; I'll have to check it out. There are
so many stores along that strip that the individual ones tend to be
"invisible."
