I am in Australia, and would like to order some items from
www.kitchenetc.com Not having dealt with them before, are they very reliable? Is Kitchenetc.com, very similar to Amazon.com, in terms customer service and range of products? Thanks in advance... |

Is Kitchenetc.com, very similar to Amazon.com, in terms customer service and range of products? Thanks in advance... I am from the US, in an area where Kitchen Etc. has brick-and-mortar retail stores. (Their corporate headquarters isn't terribly far, either.) Here is my experience shopping at their stores. - There is a large selection of different kinds of items, and they frequently have many choices for the same kind of thing. - The quality of the merchandise varies. The house-brand items are inexpensive and you get what you pay for. Most of the merchandise consists of major brands in the US market and other brands that are low-priced and okay (not great, not terrible) quality. I have no idea what it is like to do business with them over the net, or from such a great distance. In the store the customer service is okay - not exceptional, but certainly acceptable. The one time there was a problem (my credit card was billed twice for a single transaction) they made things right, though it took quite a while for the credit to be posted and the credit card company was being thoroughly difficult and uncooperative about the situation. In all fairness, I have made many purchases there and only once was there any problem. It was just a computer glitch. I'm amazed that whatever you are looking for isn't available closer to home. Kitchen Etc. has never struck me as a place that has hard-to-find items or exceptionally low prices. If you purchased from them I would expect that you would get what you ordered and everything would be okay, though I have no idea how long it would take them to ship, etc. Debbie -- Anti-spam advisory: The email address used to post this article is a throw-away address. It will be invalidated and replaced with another if and when it is found by spammers. |

I've been pleased with them, though it's been a couple years since I've dealt with them. Never found a cheaper pasta maker than the Atlas they sell. -- -Barb (www.jamlady.eboard.com updated 10-16-03; check the PickleHats tab, too.) |
