My cousin and I are working on a board for those of you concerned about
losing your Usenet service and don't want to pay for a new server. It's
going to be a place to swap recipes and talk, but it is a standard web-based
forum. I think that's all we've got left unless you go to Yahoo Groups and
with that comes all the darn spam. We don't want the spam.

So, if anyone is interested, you can go ahead and e-mail me and I'll send
you a link to the site. (Remove the NOSPAM in my address.)

I've added a few recipes already, but would appreciate help with others in
adding more. Oh, and any feedback would be appreciated.

kili ---- who is not spamming, just trying to help others who may be losing
their Usenet soon.

No, web forums are *not* "all that's left". What's left is continuing to
access Usenet through different servers.

And if you're not aware of it, that doesn't mean changing your ISP. It
just means changing the news server you use for Usenet.

And if you're not aware of it, not all of the ISP announcements about
dropping groups mention the rec* hierarchy, which this group is part of.
They are dropping the alt* hierarchy, where the "offending" binaries are
being distributed, not necessarily the Big Eight groups (hierarchies).

You're panicking. Don't panic. Learn and adjust.

See the image at the bottom of the link in mysig.

Relax.

I'm pretty sure there's a fair amount some Chicken Little in her post.

Oh bite me, douchebag and quit calling me Shirley! LOL. That's why I asked
people to individually e-mail me to get the website address; I wanted to
avoid the "YOU SPAMMER" thingy. Personally, TFM® and I bit the bullet and
paid for usenetmonster.com because RR is cutting out *ALL* usenet as of the
23rd. Wow, that's tomorrow, this month is flying by! So, anyway, my cousin
set up a forum to share recipes and talk story for those that can't pay or
don't want to pay for Usenet service. I'm filling it up with recipes. :~)

Nah, we paid into another server. This is strictly for those who are saying
bye-bye and there are quite a few, believe it or not.

Can I have the colostomy bag instead?

A site to post binaries (of food, not kiddies) would fill a void.
But there are plenty of outlets already to get free text-based
Usenet.

I was actually almost craving a colostomy bag today, but TB is completely on
the other side of town. Allan had already tapped into the whisky bottle.
Surprise!

I'm switching to Motzarella effective tonight at 24 hundred ours. It's
free. If you want complete access to all the binary groups TeraNews is a
great deal and cheap.

Those are the ones who should be educated about how to retain Usenet.

This might turn out to be a good culling. The unclued will wave their
hands in helplessness and wander off into the dark cold void of the web
forums and the clued will continue to use Usenet. Except for those that
turn to becoming Google Gropers. Oh, well...as is the case now, I won't
see them any more than the rest of the web gropers.
